Lucy ‘the rugby player’ Bowers made her TQ debut on 16th September 2012 after starting with BBC Radio Norfolk in March 2012. Born and raised in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, Lucy moved to Norfolk in 2007 when she began her Media and Politics undergraduate degree at the UEA.

Throughout her uni years she was a regular sports contributor for the University newspaper ‘Concrete’ and went on to complete Sports Reporter placements with BBC Essex, Sky News and the EDP. Her greatest moment so far was when she interviewed Clare Balding at Norwich City FC in November 2012.

Lucy hopes to continue to peruse her love for sport and rugby (and of course TQ) at BBC Radio Norfolk.

Rugby Background

Lucy began her rugby career during her first year at UEA. Having had a stereotypical perception of women’s rugby, Lucy had never considered taking up the sport herself, yet it played a dominant and very time-consuming role in her Uni life. She never looked back and five years later she is still playing for local Norfolk team, Lakenham Hewett. She has also completed a season with the Eastern Counties team.
